MATCH REPORT
Runcorn Town smashed the club's record win one week after it was set as they progressed into the Semi Finals of the Runcorn Saturday Cup with victory over Warrington League's Roundhouse Rovers.

The Reserves probably thought last weeks 14-0 win would stand for some time as a club record, but just seven days later the First Team showed that their calibre by adding another eight to the record in a 22-0 win.

The opening goal came after just five minutes when a corner from the left found Warren Bellew in the box with his cross turned in by Jon McEvoy. Danny Cummins then headed over Mark Toohey's cross, with Marvin Molyneux shooting over from McEvoy's layoff following Ian Robinson's cross.

The second took 20 minutes to arrive when Molyneux found the net from Bellew's right wing corner. Bellew seemed to be involved in everything as he shot over from inside the box then set up McEvoy who headed over.

After 25 minutes McEvoy grabbed his second of the game when he scored from Cummins' cross, with Tyson Eyo and Tony Wynne both denied by good saves from the Roundhouse keeper Danny Holmes.

Wynne also seen another effort saved on the half hour by Holmes, but three minutes later he added Town's fourth with Bellew and McEvoy sending him clear of the defence before he rounded the keeper to score.

After 37 minutes Eyo made it five when he shot from distance with little else on, with the shot finding the corner of the net. A minutes later it was six with Toohey setting up Bellew whose shot was saved, with Robinson following up to score.

The miss of the game (or so we thought) came in the 41st minute when Wynne's nemesis Holmes saved again, but he managed to get the ball across to Bellew who managed to find the crossbar with the goal at his mercy.

Wynne finally beat Holmes a minute later with a header from Cummins cross, but the unlucky striker hit the post before the ball was cleared. The final goal of the half came in stoppage time when Bellew's free kick was headed in by Danny Dalton.

The second half saw Town continue their dominance, with the home side adding an unbelievable 15 goals to the tally in the 45 minutes that followed.

It started with Cummins hitting the woodwork just three minutes in, but two minutes later Wynne crossed for half time substiturte Jason Carey who bear Holmes with a header.

Five minutes later Toohey put the other half time substitute Emini Adegbenro clear, with the winger scoring off the far post despite options available in the middle.

On the hour it was ten, with Cummins playing a one-two with Carey before finding the corner of the net with a shot, and two minutes later Molyneux added his second of the game from Bellew's low cross.

The tiring Holmes set up Town's next goal with a goal kick that fell straight to Wynne 20-yards from goal, with the forward advancing into the box and finding the net.

Having had little to do all game, Karl Wills was then replaced in goal as Town used their third substitute of the game with Lee Carroll taking over duties between the sticks.

Carey then hit over from Adegbenro's cross when a first time header seemed more appropriate, but he atoned for his miss after 67 minutes when he finished a move involving Eyo and Molyneux.

Two minutes later Carey had his hat-trick when Wynne set him up for an easy finish, with Wynne also setting up number 15 after 73 minutes when he displayed perfect control from Bellew's pinpoint long pass before laying it off for Adegbenro to score his fifth in three games.

Mini was then denied by another fine Holmes save, but a minute later Cummins decided to snatch the "miss of the game" tag from Bellew as he volleyed over from five yards out with an open goal looming.

The 76th minute saw Carey grab another as he raced clear following a poor clearance before finding the net, with Wynne grabbing his hat-trick from another Bellew cross after 78 minutes.

With ten minutes remaining, Bellew got the goal that his play deserved when Scott Howard fouled Mini on the edge of the box. Bellew took the free kick which sailed into the top corner of the net.

After 82 minutes Wynne grabbed his fourth from Cummins' cross, and three minutes later Toohey scored Town's 20th goal of the game after Mini's layoff following more good work by Bellew.

Bellew grabbed another assist to set up the next goal as Carey raced onto his pass before slotting past Holmes, with the keeper making another fine save from Carey a minute later following Bellew's corner.

Wynne thought he had scored his fifth of the game a minute later when his shot bounced off the underside of the bar, but the referee insisted the ball had not crossed the line despite Wynne's protests.

As the only outfield member of the squad not to score, Dave Ginever went up front for the last few minutes to try to add to his incredible goal tally of two. With three minutes remaining, Molyneux picked him out at the far post and as he rose for the header, Carey stole in to get there first for his sixth of the game, despite Ginever's attempts to foul him!

In the last minute Mini saw a shot cleared off the line by Ian Hamling, with Ginever having one final attempt to score but unrooting a tree with his fierce effort that went over.
