MATCH REPORT
As expected The visitors began brightly with Jamie Rainford and Neil Black both being through on goal early on but it was Town who scored first through Danny Cummins after 20 minutes. He hit a fantastic 25-yard effort after a right wing corner was only half cleared. Town looked for a second and almost got one five minutes later as Tony Wynne belted the ball against the crossbar from five yards out from Emini Adegbenro's cross. Despite four half time changes, Town's shape did not alter and substitute Jason Carey's fifth goal of pre-season doubled the lead in the 51st minute. He anticipated a header near the halfway line and raced clear of the Marine defence, rounding the keeper before slotting the ball home. Marine pulled one back ten minutes later with a fantastic strike from the edge of the box from Anthony Lipson which gave Lee Carroll no chance. Four minutes later Marine equalised when a cross from the right by Peter McShane was headed into the bottom left hand corner by Kieran Molyneux. Despite the league difference Town were well worthy of a share of the spoils with no noticable difference between the two outfits.
