Paul is a strong and quick full back who gives 100% to every tackle. Also uses his pace well to advance forward as much as he can and has a powerful shot on him when he chooses to use it.

He made his debut for the reserves from the bench in August 2005 at home to Willaston but left a couple of games later to go to neighbours Halton. Returned to the club in February 2007 and has been a virtual ever present since.

Paul's first goal took a while to arrive and did so at home to Shaftesbury in April 2008.

Made debut for the first team at Newton in the Cheshire Amateur Cup in November 2007 and has never let the first team down when called upon.

Paul is also a more than capable deputy between the sticks when called upon, and has kept three clean sheets in the four games he has played there, conceding just the one goal.
