TOWN STAY TOP AFTER WIN Runcorn Town remained top of the North West Counties Premier Division after a 2-1 victory at St Helens Town.Warren Bellew put the visitors ahead in the 14th minute, converting Shaun Chart's low cross from the right hand side, but struggled for a lot of the half - only some inaccurate finishing from the home side ensuring a half time lead. The second half saw St Helens enjoy the lions share of possession but not creating many chances, mainly due to the superb form of Town's defence. The second Town goal arrived in the 84th minute when Bellew's free kick was hit back across goal by Tom Spearitt, with Jason Carey converting. The two goal lead lasted just two minutes with Daniel Hand finding himself free in the box to poke the ball past Karl Wills, but Town held on to record a crucial three points.
