BOOTLE HIT BACK TO TAKE POINT
A second half strike from Michael Young denied Runcorn Town all three points at Pavilions with a 1-1 draw seeing Ramsbottom United leapfrog Town to the top of the table.

Town got off to the perfect start with a goal after just six minutes. From a corner on the left hand side, Mark Keddie's spectulative backheel evaded everyone and found the net.

Town had the better of the first half chances and Bootle would have had no complaints had they gone in at half time a couple of goals behind.

The second half was a different story in a game that was a cracking advert for North West Counties League football. After 69 minutes Bootle were level with Mark Kilroy making a pinpoint cross from the right with Young rising at the far post to plant a header into the bottom corner of the net.

Both sides could have won it with Bootle coming closest with Kevin Black hitting the bar, but overall it was a fair result on the day against a very determined and well drilled Bootle outfit.
