TOWN PROGRESS AT CONGLETON
Runcorn Town progressed through to the Last 16 of the North West Counties League Challenge Cup after a 3-0 victory at Congleton Town.

It was not the best performance of the season, and had the home side been more clinical they could have easily gone in at the break ahead. Nevertheless it was clinical finishing once again by Town who were worthy of their seventh away win of the season over the 90 minutes.

Mark Keddie continued his recent good scoring streak with the opening goal after just nine minutes. He latched on to Ste Latham's long ball before hitting a low volley into the corner for his fourth goal in five games.

The second goal came six minutes into the second half with Town counter-attacking from defence with James McShane running onto Leon Williams' through ball before slotting past the keeper for his 19th goal of the season.

The third goal came with ten minutes remaining with Shaun Chart, making his debut after a recent move from AFC Liverpool, hitting a free kick from the edge of the box that found the net after Scott Burton had being fouled.
