ROBBIE MOORE "OUTSTANDING" IN INTER-LEAGUE CLASH
Runcorn Town's Robbie Moore was described as "outstanding" as he starred in last night's West Cheshire League's 4-2 victory over the Cheshire League in the annual Cooper Smith Trophy at Trafford FC.

Despite getting delayed on the way to the ground and up to seven players pulling out at late notice, West Cheshire put it behind them to go 2-0 up within eight minutes with Heswall's Tom Rowlands grabbing both. Cheshire came back with a header from a corner after 13, but Rowlands wrapped up his hat-trick on 21 minutes with a fine effort.

Cheshire gave it a real go in the second half but were stunned by Lairds' Shaun Holmes just before the hour mark who fired in an unstoppable effort from 25-yards. Cheshire grabbed a consolation goal that their second half play deserved six minutes from time.

Team: Bimpson (Lairds), Woodward (Upton), Brookes (Lairds), Moore (Runcorn), Helm (Newton), Atherton (West Kirby), Pickles (Heswall), Holmes (Lairds), Cass (West Kirby), Foukes (Heswall), Rowlands (Heswall). Subs Kenyon (Heswall), Hughes (Heswall), Dulse (Heswall), Andrews (Upton)
