James McShane wrote himself into the record books with his 100th goal for Runcorn Town sealing a 4-2 victory over St Helens Town.
Regrettably there are no detailed statistics available for the clubs' Mond Rangers days, but if any player has scored 100 previously they will likely not have done it as fast as McShane, who was tonight playing his 109th game for the club.
Macca was on 98 before the start of the game, and took just seven minutes to reach 99, racing onto Emini Adegbenro's through ball to slot past the onrushing Nicholas Jackson.
After 29 minutes Jackson was beaten again with Warren Bellew beating the offside line from Scott Burton's through ball before confidently slotting the ball into the net.
Three mins before half time Saints pulled one back, Karl Wills failing to hold Karl Aldridge's free kick on the slippery surface with Carl Addison firing the rebound into the net.
The second half saw a great deal of pressure from Saints and they appeared to have rescued a point when Scott Baker's shot from the edge of the box spun off Wills and hit the post with Addison scoring his second of the game.
However with ten minutes remaining two substitutes combined to put Town back ahead - Ryan Malone running at the defence before slotting the ball through to Jason Carey who beat Jackson at his near post.
With St Helens pushing forward looking for the equaliser, McShane ensured that he wouldnt be waiting for his milestone goal. Burton played a perfect ball through to him with the North West Counties League leading scorer hitting an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box.
