TOWN ROMP PAST WIGAN YOUNGSTERS

Runcorn Town romped to victory over a very youthful Wigan Athletic with all of the goals coming in the first half of a 5-0 victory.

Town got off to the perfect start with Mark Keddie scoring in the opening couple of minutes, before a six-minute hat-trick from James McShane put the result beyond doubt by the 19th minute.

Last season's North West Counties League's leading scorer notched the perfect hat-trick, the first with his right foot, the second with his left and the third a pinpoint header.

The fifth and ultimately final goal came in the 45th minute with Graeme Mitchell on target.
