LEIGH GENESIS WITHDRAW APPLICATION

One of next seasons potential oponents Leigh Genesis have withdrawn their application to join the North West Counties League for season and will no longer operate a team at semi-professional level.

Genesis played last season in the Evo-Stik League First Division North, and having finished bottom of the league, should have been relegated into the North West Counties.

However the club, who now have 30 junior teams and a full-time youth programme attached to them, do not have a permanent ground having played last season at Atherton LR.

They were hoping to return to Leigh Sports Village to share with Leigh Athletic FC at Leigh Harriers Athletics Ground, but that option has been unsuccessful and with no other suitable venues available, the club were left with no option other than to withdraw their application.
