TOWN FACE MILLERS AFTER QUARTER FINAL WIN
Runcorn Town will travel to Vodkat League Premier Division Champions New Mills on Saturday after a 6-1 victory at Wigan Robin Park in the Quarter Finals.

Town got off to a perfect start after just three minutes with Emini Adegbenro heading in Darren Kinsey's cross from the left from close range.

After 25 minutes it was 2-0 with Warren Bellew's corner from the right handled in the box with James McShane despatching the penalty to become the Vodkat League's Leading Scorer with 43 goals.

Two minutes later it was 3-0 when another Bellew corner, this time from the left, evaded everyone in the box with McShane hooking the ball back in for Andy Morgan to head home.

Town fell asleep just after the resumption to the secnd half with Matthew Mason dancing through the defence before slotting past Karl Wills. It was cruel on the Town number one who had no chance with the finish, with the goal ending a 417 minute run without conceding, just two minutes short of setting a new club record.

Four minutes later it was 4-1 with Adegbenro picking the ball up just inside the Wigan half and advancing before playing in Warren Bellew who coolly slotted past the keeper.

The fifth goal after 63 minutes was the goal of the game and started at left back with Kinsey. He played it forward to Adegbenro who cut inside before finding McShane. His first time pass found the overlapping Ste Latham who chipped it over the keeper from close range.

The final goal arrived after 77 minutes with Tony Wynne becoming the sixth name on the scoresheet. McShane got clear on the right hand side and advanced into the box before unselfishingly squaring the ball for Wynne to finish.

Saturday's Semi-Final will be a good indication of how far we have come with New Mills no doubt intent on completing a league and cup double before joining the Evo-Stik League. The meeting will be the second between the sides, having met during pre-season in 2007 when the sides played out a 2-2 draw, Connor Taylor and Ryan Wade scoring.
