Runcorn Town defender Mark Tudor has brought to an end his 17-year playing career with the club after announcing his retirement following yesterday's 5-2 win over Crewe for the Reserves.
Mark was on Chester City's books as a youngster before joining Mond Rangers' Youth Team following his release. He progressed quickly through the club, playing in the Reserves' first West Cheshire League campaign in 1998/99 before breaking into the First Team.
He remained one of the clubs' first choice defenders for many years before moving back into the Reserve team where he helped bring through the next generation of players.
Appearance records for the club only go back to the start of the clubs' Runcorn Town days in 2005/06 where he is on 156 appearances. However we believe that Mark has played over 500 games for the club since making his debut which is without doubt a club record, and the fact he has been a one club man throughout his career is surely a record at this level of football.
Congratulations to Mark, and happy retirement!
