Runcorn Town concluded their debut Vodkat League season just as they started it with three second half goals giving them a 3-0 victory over Abbey Hey.
The first half had "end of season" written all over it with both teams struggling to create chances. The best fell to Town in the 32nd minute when James McShane got clear of the defence but was thwarted by a last ditch tackle from a recovering defender when poised to shoot.
The opening goal arrived after 49 minutes when McShane held up the ball on the edge of the box before releasing Jason Carey who found the net from an acute angle. The lead was doubled in the 63rd minute with a well worked goal. Chris Brown found McShane who again held it up before releasing the overlapping Warren Bellew who found the corner of the net with a first time effort.
The third goal came after 75 minutes with McShane scoring his 42nd goal of the season, his 28th in the league. Bellew's shot fell kindly for Carey in the box with the keeper making a good save from his snap shot, however McShane was on hand to tap the ball into the empty net.
