MAKING STRIDES FOR CANCER RESEARCH
On Friday 6th May 2011, Runcorn Town defender Robbie Davies and local referee Kieran Connolly will be heading off to Wales to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

They will be setting out from Runcorn to walk the 75 miles to Snowdon with nothing but a tent on their backs to camp in along the way. One they have made it, they will then undertake a 3,400ft to the highest peak on the mountain.

Robbie says "Cancer Research UK is a well established charitable organisation which is entirely funded by the public through various donations and fundraising events, such as the one we will be conducting on May 6th.

Both myself and Kieran are passionate lads who like many others, know people who have been severely affected by cancer and want to do our utmost to help conquer this disease and hopefully prevent the number of people who have to suffer from it in the future.

We have had a fantastic response so far and still have three weeks left until we set off, and we want to raise as much money as possible for a charity that could touch any of our lives in the future.

Unfortunately there will be a large number of people, including ourselves, who have had family or friends battle cancer and know how tough it is for everybody involved. Therefore we are appealing to anybody who is interested in donating to such a fantastic charity to do all they can to support us and make our final total as big as possible."

If you are interested in sponsoring Robbie and Kieran, you can donate via their JustGiving site at www.justgiving.com/making-strides
