
Runcorn Town's 17-game unbeaten run came to an end with AFC Blackpool progressing to the Semi Finals of the Vodkat League Division One Trophy after a 3-1 victory at the Mechanics Ground.
Town went ahead after three minutes with Jason Carey on the end of Warren Bellew's free kick. It should have been two after 28 minutes with Carey squaring the ball for Ste Latham to finish only for the linesman raise his flag for offside.
Blackpool were level after 35 minutes with Anthony Stayte playing in Ben Waddington who finished smartly. The home side then went ahead after 64 minutes with Waddington getting clear on the left hand side. Karl Wills pulled off a good save from his shot with the ball falling to Niall Cummins who made no mistake.
Martin Baird made the game safe with 12 minutes left after advancing down the left and into the box before slotting past Wills.
