BELOW KEY TOWN HOLD ON TO DRAW
Runcorn Town extended their unbeaten Vodkat League run to 18 matches as they closed the gap on AFC Blackpool to just a point after a 1-1 draw at AFC Darwen.

Both teams largely cancelled each other out in the first half, with the visitors endebted to goalkeeper Karl Wills in the second half who pulled off a series of fine saves to keep Town in the game.

An unlikely victory looked on the cards with 15 minutes remaining after Emini Adegbenro rose at the edge of the box to head Jason Carey's cross from the right goalwards, with the ball bouncing into the empty net.

However Darwen responded within 90 seconds with Bobby Langford picking up the ball midway in Town's half and advancing before hitting an unstoppable left footed shot that flew into the top corner.

Darwen should have won it in the 90th minute as they counter attacked with Town pushing for the winner, with Wills making an excellent stop from Langford who was one-on-one with Town's number one.
