TOWN BEAT ECCLESHALL IN 9-GOAL THRILLER
Runcorn Town kept up the pressure on AFC Blackpool at the top of Vodkat League Division One after beating Eccleshall 5-4 at Pavilions.

Eccleshall took the lead after just 43 seconds through Daniel Hughes, with James McShane heading Town level after 18 minutes from Warren Bellew's corner.

McShane returned the favour five minutes later when his cross was met by Bellew, who unleashed a powerful volley into the corner of the net to put Town ahead. Ian Robinson then tapped in the third after 37 minutes from a couple of yards after Darren Kinsey's shot was saved.

Back came Eccleshall who went in at half time just a goal behind after Hughes had rifled in his second with a shot that gave Karl Wills no chance.

In the second half, Andy Morgan restored the two goal advantage with a header from another Bellew corner, with Emini Adegbenro stroking in the fifth less than a minute after coming on as substitute in the 79th minute.

Eccleshall again refused to give in with Liam McKinney slotting past Wills to make it 5-3 with seven minutes remaining. Hughes' hat-trick goal three minutes later, a tap in after Wills had pulled off an excellent save, made it a tense last few minutes, but Burton's men held on to take all three points.
