VODKAT LEAGUE CUPS NEWS

Runcorn Town's season could be extended to May should they continue to progress in both the Vodkat League Challenge Cup and the Division One Trophy.

With the FA ordering that the season must finish on Saturday 30th April, the Vodkat League Committee have declared that the start of May will see the conclusion of both competitions.

Town's progress in the Division One Trophy last night set up a mouth watering tie at AFC Blackpool in the Quarter Finals of the competition, with both sides still in all competitions. The date of this is yet to be decided, but Tuesday 12th April is looking likely.

The winners of this tie will be at home in the Semi Finals against either AFC Liverpool or Norton United / Rochdale Town on Wednesday 4th May, with the Final at Flixton's Valley Road on Monday 9th May.

Should Town overcome Atherton LR in the Challenge Cup on Tuesday 29th March, we will be away in the Quarter Finals at either Wigan Robin Park or Stone Dominoes. This will be on Monday 2nd May.

Other Quarter Finals see Blackpool at home to Irlam or Squires Gate, Glossop North End at home to New Mills and Formby or Bootle at home to Bacup Borough or Winsford United.

The Semi Finals will be on Saturday 7th May (to be drawn at a Quarter Final match), with the Final at Curzon Ashton's Tameside Stadium being on Wednesday 11th May.
