Runcorn Town showed the form which brought manager Simon Burton his second Manager of the Month with a 6-0 demolition of Atherton Collieries at Pavilions.
The game took Town's home goals tally to 52 in just 11 home games, and also gave Town a goal difference of +50 in just 20 games this season. This is fourteen more than AFC Blackpool who remain level on points with Town at the top after their 6-1 win at AFC Darwen tonight.
Tony Wynne became the third Town forward to score a hat-trick in the last six games with his first two goals ensuring a 2-0 lead at half time. James McShane was the creator of both goals with deadly executed passes allowing Wynne time to beat Josh Harris in the Atherton net.
The game was over as a contest after 53 minutes with Jason Carey grabbing the first of his two goals as McShane's pass sent him clear of the defence with Carey's early shot deceiving Harris who expected him to run further with it.
Wynne grabbed his third and Town's fourth after 62 minutes with a shot that spun into the net off Harris from an acute angle, with Danny Dalton heading in the fifth ten minutes from time following Warren Bellew's free kick from the right hand side. Carey rounded off the scoring five minutes later after seizing on a poor clearance before finding the net from inside the box.
