TOWN MOVE TOP OF THE LEAGUE
Runcorn Town moved to the top of Vodkat League Division One after a 2-1 victory at Chadderton after an extraordinary finish at Andrew Street.

Town went ahead after 13 minutes with James McShane racing onto Jason Carey's through ball before slotting past the keeper. Five minutes later it was two with McShane feeding Connor Anderson to score.

Chadderton pulled one back after 27 minutes with a cross from the right turned it at the near post by Joey Jacombs. The home side missed a penalty on the stroke of half time with James Curley ballooning over.

In a scrappy second half Town could have extended the lead with Ian Robinson forcing a fine save and Tony Wynne shooting straight at keeper Lee Swanson.

Four minutes into stoppage time Chadderton got a penalty after handball by Warren Bellew. Daniel Shaw took it with Karl Wills making a fine save to his left. However the referee ordered a retake with Ben Greenidge becoming the third spot kick taker of the game. This time Wills dived to his right to make another fantastic save and secure the points for Town.
