TOWN SLUMP TO DEFEAT AGAINST MONK
Runcorn Town Reserves' hopes of promotion from Cheshire League Division Two were dented with Monk registering a 2-1 victory in tonight's match at Pavilions.

Monk went ahead after 14 minutes through Alan Brown who headed home a corner at the near post. It should have been worse for Town after 26 minutes when Monk was awarded a penalty, but the spot kick was blasted over the bar.

Town came back into the game in the second half with some good pressure, but Monk doubled their lead after 78 minutes with Brown grabbing his second of the game.

With two minutes to go Town grabbed a lifeline with Dave Graven heading home, but Monk held on for the win.
