LINNETS OVERCOME TOWN IN RUNCORN CUP

Runcorn Linnets Reserves emerged victorious in this evening's Runcorn & District FA Cup First Round with a 2-0 victory at Pavilions over Town Reserves.

Josh Smith opened the scoring after 12 minutes when a free kick from the right hand side was not cleared by Town's defence with Smith firing low into the net.

And it was Smith who made the game safe for Linnets after 73 minutes when a low cross from near the right touchline was turned in from close range.
