DUNSTON END TOWN'S VASE DREAMS

Northern League side Dunston UTS ended Town's dreams of a debut Wembley appearance in the FA Carlsberg Vase, with Andrew Bulford's hat-trick helping them to a 3-1 win.

Town got off to a bad start with poor defending giving Bulford his first after just three minutes, and the striker made it 2-0 after 28 minutes with a curling shot into the corner of the net.

James McShane reduced the defecit from the penalty spot with his 20th goal of the season after Jason Carey's shot hit a defender on the arm. However Bulford's precise finish nine minutes from time made it 3-1 to give Dunston a comfortable win.
