Runcorn Town returned to Vodkat League action after a six week layoff with a 2-1 victory over Norton United at Pavilions.
Norton had the better of the early chances in a game where both teams showed signs of rustiness after the enforced break, and it was the visitors who eventually took the lead through Dan Brown after 34 minutes.
A cross from the left by Tom Fogg was fumbled by home keeper Karl Wills, with Brown scoring possibly his easiest goal of the season with a simple tap in from three yards out.
Town came back strong with Darren Kinsey's shot and Connor Anderson's follow up both saved by Leigh Miller, but Town pulled level with three minutes of the half remaining through James McShane. Anderson found Emini Adegbenro on the right with Mini weaving past three players before playing in McShane who finished coolly.
The second half saw Town have the better of the chances with McShane having a rare off day after wasting two golden opportunities from close range. As with all good strikers through he did not let his head drop and was rewarded with his second goal on 80 minutes which proved the winner.
Marvin Molyneux's cross from the right was headed goalwards by Jason Carey, with Miller pulling off another excellent stop, with the Vodkat League's leading scorer McShane on hand to tap the ball home.
Macca could have made it three in the 90th minute when he raced clear of the defence, but shot wide of the right hand post with Miller to beat.
