POSSIBLE FIRST HOME TIE IN VASE

Runcorn Town will play their first ever home tie in the FA Carlsberg Vase should they overcome Gornal Athletic following the draw for the next round this lunchtime.

31 of Saturday's 32 ties in the Third Round of the Vase were wiped out because of the weather. The majority have been rearranged for next Saturday, including Gornal v Town, although there are a few midweek matches scheduled.

Despite the number of cancellations, the draw was still made and Gornal or Town will face either Dunston UTS or Heather St Johns at home in the Fourth Round.

Dunston, from Gateshead, play in Northern League Division One, which is one level above Town, and they finished fourth last season. Runcorn folk may remember them from the late 90's when they played Runcorn AFC in the FA Cup under their old name of Dunston Federation Brewery.

Heather St Johns are from Leicestershire and play in the Midland Combination Premier Division, the same level as Town. Last season they finished second and won their League Cup.

The Fourth Round of the FA Carlsberg Vase is on Saturday 22nd January 2011.
