TOWN PROGRESS IN PYKE CUP

Runcorn Town progressed through to the Second Round of the Pyke Cup after a 5-2 victory over holders West Kirby.

Despite going in at the break 1-0 down, Town responded through Adam Carden, but poor defending saw West Kirby take the lead again. Ryan Wade's equalised again with Will Dolan putting Town 3-2 up with seven minutes left. With West Kirby pushing for the equaliser, Town broke twice in injury time with Kyle Hamid and Aarron Brown scoring.

Meanwhile Runcorn Town Reserves had a morale boosting 3-2 victory at Hale. A full report on this game will follow.
