MCSHANE DOUBLE PUTS TOWN THROUGH Runcorn Town progressed into the Third Round Proper of the FA Carlsberg Vase with a convincing performance as they registered their third sucessive away win in the competition with a 2-0 win at Eccleshill UnitedTown went ahead after 29 minutes with James McShane converting a penalty after Tony Wynne was felled in the box. Despite numerous chances to add to the lead, a one goal lead was all that separated the sides at half time. The second half saw the home side on top for long periods but they failed to create any clear cut chances with Karl Wills largely untested. McShane and Emini Adegbenro both had chances to double the lead as the game progressed, however it was McShane who made the game safe in the 90th minute after he broke clear of the defence from Chris Brown's through ball and slotted past the keeper. Town now travel to the Birmingham area in the Third Round Proper on 4th December as they take on Gornal Athletic.
