Should Runcorn Town overcome Eccleshill United in tomorrow's Second Round tie in the FA Vase, they will face their
fourth successive away tie in the competition at West Midlands side Gornal Athletic.
Gornal, who are based in the village of Lower Gornal, near Dudley in Birmingham, currently lie second in their league and are having their best ever run in the FA Vase having previously only reached the First Round. They also have one of the most unique club badges I have ever seen!
On Saturday they won 2-1 at Boldmere St Michaels in the Second Round of the Vase, having previously won 2-0 at Willenhall Town in Round One and 7-0 at home to Pelsall Villa in the Second Qualifying Round.
Other ties also see fellow Vodkat League Division One side AFC Liverpool travel to FA Vase Holders Whitley Bay, with St Helens Town away at Holbrook Sports and Formby or Bacup Borough getting a home tie against Tadcaster Albion.
Should Formby get through that will be the fourth successive round they have been drawn at home, but on the other end of the scale, spare a thought for Heather St Johns from just outside Leicester. They have been drawn away for the FIFTH successive round, and face a 380-mile round trip to Dunston UTS in the Third Round Proper.
Third Round ties are scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 4th December 2010.
