TOWN CAUSE SHOCK AGAINST CONGLETON

Runcorn Town registered their third "giant killing" act of the season after overcoming Premier Division side Congleton Town 2-1 in the Second Round of the Vodkat League Challenge Cup.

Town went ahead after just 12 minutes with James McShane opening the scoring, with the visitors levelling after 39 minutes through a brave Mark Beeston header.

What proved the winning goal came after 75 minutes with McShane converting Emini Adegbenro's low cross from the right with a goal that propelled McShane to become leading scorer in the Vodkat League First Division with 15 goals in 14 games this season.
