BILL WEIGHT TROPHY SHARED IN THRILLER
Runcorn Town got their hands on the first silverware of the West Cheshire League season after a thrilling 3-3 draw with West Kirby led to a share of the Bill Weight Memorial Trophy.

After a good start, Shaun Tierney put Town ahead in the 21st minute from the penalty spot after Adam Carden was brought down in the box. West Kirby equalised ten minutes later from their first attack with Lee Atherton scoring from close range after good work on the right.

West Kirby went ahead in first half stoppage time with the goal of the game. Lee Gibson advanced into the box on the left and pulled the ball back for Atherton, who volleyed first time into the bottom corner.

Town's equaliser came on the hour after Will Dolan broke down the right and crossed low for Carden to fire home. And five minutes later Town went ahead after Kyle Hamid's quick free kick caught Craig Bryan cold.

Dean Thurston then had a chance to make it four after going clear but shot just wide, but a minute later West Kirby equalised from the spot with Keiron Fleetwood netting.
