Runcorn Town's five match unbeaten run was ended at Poynton on Saturday with early concentration in each half once again the problem in a 2-1 defeat.
Poynton scored after just three minutes of the first half and then just a minute into the second half as they went into a 2-0 lead that barely did the game justice.
Town managed to pull one back when Mark McGrath headed home from inside the box from a cross from the right hand side, but despite bossing most of the second half, could not find an equaliser.
