RESERVES PROGRESS IN LEAGUE CUP
Runcorn Town Reserves progressed through to the Quarter Finals of the Cheshire League Division Two Trophy after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Poynton at Pavilions.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring after passing their way through Town's defence on the left before slotting the ball past Carl Williams.

Midway through the half Town equalised with Paul Illidge getting his name on the scoresheet (didnt see the goal so description to follow!).

In a tight game, Jack Burbidge came closest to grabbing the all important second goal when a run down the right ended with him rattling the crossbar.

The winner finally came with three minutes remaining when a ball from the left was headed into the danger area by Burbidge where Ged Bushell was waiting to turn in his 50th goal for the club.
