WEEKEND PREVIEW - SAT 18 SEPTEMBER
Runcorn Town's weekend games kick off this Saturday morning with the Under 12's travelling to Liverpool to face Woolton JFC.

Woolton have played two matches so far compared to Town's one, and have won one and lost one. On the opening day of the season they won 8-0 at Brookvale United, but then lost on their home patch the week after with Bridge Athletic running out 3-2 winners. Kick off at Woolton is 10.30am.

Shortly after that at 11.00am the Youth team will try to gain their second win of the season as they entertain Ellesmere Port JFC at St Chads School. Port have had a decent start having won four and lost three of their first seven matches, and lie in sixth place in the table.

Kyle Smythe is the main danger man for Port having scored six goals already this season, with Steve Lawrenson the next leading scorer having netted three times.

Both the First Team and the Reserves have 3.00pm kick off's and both are away from home. The Reserves travel to Congleton Town Reserves in Cheshire League Division Two, with the First Team making their FA Carlsberg Vase debut with a trip to Rotherham to face Parkgate.

Congleton have had a mixed start to the season and are ninth in the league table having lost five of their eight games. Their three wins have all come at home though against Daten, Barnton and Moore United.

Parkgate will be a difficult task for the First Team and they are in fourth place in the Northern Counties East Premier Division (one league above what we play in). They are unbeaten in the league but have only played four games due to their cup exploits.

In the FA Cup they beat Vodkat Premier League side Ashton Athletic 2-0 before winning 3-1 at Staveley Miners Welfare. They bowed out last weekend with a 3-1 home defeat by Warrington Town. In the last round of the Vase they had an excellent 4-2 victory over Congleton Town who are riding high in the Vodkat Premier League.
