RESERVES SET FOR LEAGUE OPENER
Runcorn Town Reserves will be on new territory on Saturday with their first ever game in the Cheshire League against Crewe FC.

Crewe finished in fourth place in last seasons Cheshire League Division Two with a good home record, winning nine of their fifteen home games - the most of anyone in the league.

Manager Rod Looker has made several new signings over the summer and more than one person should make
their debuts on Saturday. Signings include Alex Tringham, a defender; John Parry, who can play in defence or midfielder, and the attacking midfield trio of Jason McShane, Richie Hargreaves and Tom Lupton.

Town also welcome back a couple of “old faces” who are returning to the club in Daryl Evans and Kev Hammond.

Crewe’s ground is considered one of the best in the league with one of the best playing surfaces that you can get. Unfortunately for Town, it is a council pitch and the council have said that it is not yet ready. Therefore Saturday's game will be played at Sir William Stanier School in Crewe, which looks like another superb facility. The postcode for the school is CW1 4EB, and kick off is at 3.00pm.

In other Reserve news, their away clash a week on Saturday (21st) against fellow Cheshire League newcomers Rudheath Social has now been switched to a home tie, once again due to the unavailability of their pitch. Kick off on the 21st is at 3.00pm.
