Runcorn Town made it three pre-season wins out of three as they continue preparations for their inaugural Vodkat League season with a 4-1 win at Manchester Premier Division side Gregorians.
The hosts are no strangers to Town having played a pre-season game two seasons ago, and they won the Northern Systems Cup last season representing Manchester as they beat Cheshire in the Final.
James McShane's third goal in three preseason games put Town ahead after just ten 10 minutes of the game, with the Gregorians equalising on the half hour.
Town then went 2-1 up after 67 minutes with McShane scoring again, with McShane then turning provider seven minutes later when he crossed for Warren Bellew to make it 3-1.
Town played some fine football throughout the game with Bellew and Mike Chesters particularly standing out. Tony Wynne completed the scoring by making it 4-1 with five minutes remaining following good work from Bellew.
The pre-season campaign steps up a notch over the next week with two Vodkat Premier Division sides visiting Town. Colne are the visitors on Saturday with Winsford United travelling to Runcorn next Tuesday night.
