TOWN IN OPENING DAY WIN

Runcorn Town marked their return to the West Cheshire First Division with a 2-0 win at Aintree Villa.

Connor Taylor grabbed both of Town's goals, the first coming after half an hour when he raced onto a through ball and hammered it past the keeper.

The second came late in the second half when Liam Page found Ryan Wade and his cross was turned in by Taylor from close range.

Meanwhile Town Reserves went down 6-0 at home to newcomers Mossley Hill Athletic in Division Three despite a goalless first half.
