Runcorn Town have today being admitted to the Vodkat League for the 2010/11 season following the leagues Annual General Meeting in Blackpool.
Town were unanimously voted in by member clubs and we will be one of 20 clubs in Division One when the season kicks off on Saturday August 7th.
The draw for the Vodkat League Cup and the Division One Trophy was also made at the meeting. In the Vodkat League Cup, Town will travel to AFC Liverpool in the First Round, with the winners at home to Congleton Town. In the Division One Trophy we got a bye in the First Round but will travel to Abbey Hey or Cheadle in the Second Round.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank those clubs who voted for Town, and look forward to becoming established members of the league ourselves.
The announcement concludes a summer that has seen much changes at the club. The First Team will be playing in the highest league they have ever played in, as well as entering the FA Vase and Cheshire Senior Cup for the first time.
The Reserves will also be playing in a new league having elected to resign from the West Cheshire League and join the Cheshire League instead.
As well as this we will be having a Youth Team in the West Cheshire Youth League and an Under 12s Team in the Halton & District Junior League.
