WEST CHESHIRE LEAGUE PERMUTATIONS
In what has become the tightest race in years in all three West Cheshire leagues, we look at permutations over the next week which will decide who walks away with the league championships.

Division One
Put simply, if Town win their remaining two games then they will win the league. We are level on points with West Kirby, who have a goal difference of +41 to Town's +55. Town's games are not easy though... away to Cammell Laird Reserves on Saturday and at home to Upton AA on Monday.

West Kirby need to win their remaining two games and hope Town and Lairds drop point. A draw in the Lairds v Town game on Saturday would be ideal for them. They should overcome Vauxhall Motors Reserves on Saturday at Marine Park, but then have an away game on Monday at Helsby who ran Town so close last night.

Lairds are third, two points behind West Kirby with a game in hand. Lairds are in the same position as Town - win all their games and win the league. However their run in is really difficult. After Saturday, they travel to Newton on Saturday 1st May, and also have a home game against Heswall on a date yet to be decided.

Heswall are also not out of it yet, and are four points off the top with a game in hand. They face Blacon Youth Club on Saturday in a what is a controversial game. They have already played earlier this season with Heswall fielding an ineligible player. Instead of deducting three points like Lairds and Willaston have had happen this season, the league has ordered it to be replayed.

Heswall's other games are at home to Christleton and away at Lairds, although both of these games have yet to be given dates! To win the league, Heswall would need Town and West Kirby to drop points in one of their two games and win all of theirs.

Remaining Games

RUNCORN: Sat 24th - Cammell Laird Reserves (A). Mon 26th - Upton AA (H)
W. KIRBY: Sat 24th - Vauxhall Motors (H). Mon 26th - Helsby (A)
C. LAIRDS: Sat 24th - Runcorn Town (H). Sat 1st May - Newton (A). TBA - Heswall (H)
HESWALL: Sat 24th - Blacon Youth Club (H). TBA - Christleton (H). TBA - Cammell Laird Reserves (A).

Division Two
This is an easy one. If Chester Nomads win at Marshalls on Saturday, they win the league. If they do not, Southport Trinity, who have completed their fixtures, will win the league.

Remaining Games

NOMADS: Sat 24th - Marshalls (A)

Division Three
Hale need four points from their three remaining games to guarantee the league title. They face Mersey Royal at home on Saturday, Blacon Youth Club Reserves away on Monday and Manor Athletic at home on Wednesday. For anyone else to win the league, Hale have to lose two games of their three, which aint gonna happen!

So who will finish second? Richmond Raith Rovers are in the driving seat, and should they beat Manor Athletic at home on Saturday and Christleton Reserves away on Monday, they will finish second.

If they slip up in either game, Town Reserves will finish second if they win their two games at home to Christleton Reserves on Saturday and away at Capenhurst Villa Reserves on Monday. Town may yet have a third game at home to Mersey Royal, but we are waiting on the West Cheshire League to decide punishment over their non-appearance last week.

Prescot Cables Reserves are second at the moment and the other team in with a shout of finishing in the top two. They have just one game left at Capenhurst Villa Reserves on Saturday, which they must win and hope that Town and Richmond slip up.
