With Saturday's game at Marine Reserves called off following Marine's First Team game on Friday, Runcorn Town saw their lead at the top of West Cheshire One cut to four points with the three teams below all winning.
West Kirby are second as they celebrated John Brett being named Manager of the Month with a 7-1 win at Christleton. Mike Burke (3), Terry Cotgrave (2), Kevin Bimpson and Kris Hesketh were all on target with Steve Morgan grabbing Christleton's consolation.
Third placed Cammell Lairds Reserves also had a good win by beating Upton A.A. 4-0 with Danny Edwards, Chris Barrow, Alex Bishop and Tom Cairns scoring. They are five points behind Town and one point ahead of fourth placed Heswall, who won 1-0 at Castrol Social thanks to Nathan Mapletoft's goal.
One other game of note saw Halton enjoy a 2-0 win at Blacon Youth Club thanks to Steve Horrocks and Dave Lynch. That result means that Blacon will be playing Division Two football next season.
West Kirby are four points behind Town with two games in hand, with Lairds a further point behind also with two games in hand. Heswall are six points adrift with just one game in hand.
Wednesday saw some huge games with results going Town's way. Town won 1-0 at Marine Reserves with West Kirby and Cammell Laird Reserves drawing 2-2. This moved Town six points clear at the top. Heswall kept up their charge with a 2-1 win at Newton.
In Division Three, second place Town Reserves enjoyed a thumping 6-0 victory over third place Ashville Reserves with Paul Illidge, Dave Jolley and Jack Burbidge all grabbing two.
That result saw Ashville drop to fifth with Richmond Raith Rovers now third and after a 3-1 win at Manor Athletic and Prescot Cables fourth after a 6-0 home win against Capenhurst Villa Reserves. Richmond are eight points behind Town with two games in hand, and Prescot nine points behind with three games in hand.
Top of the league remain Hale though, who were controversially awarded three points after opponents Southport Trinity Reserves failed to raise a team for the game. They are three points clear of Town with a game in hand.
Tuesday night saw Ashville lose further ground with a 1-1 draw at Ellesmere Port Reserves, whilst Southport Trinity again did Town a disservice by failing to turn up again, this time Richmond Raith Rovers being awarded three points.
Prescot gave Town Reserves a glimmer of hope of taking the title with a 3-1 defeat of Hale, which was Hale's second successive playing defeat.
