RAMPANT TOWN MOTOR ON
Runcorn Town stretched their lead at the top of the West Cheshire League to 12 points after coming from behind to beat Vauxhall Motors 5-1 at Pavilions.

Vauxhall belied their lowly league position early on and looked the better side for the first quarter of the game minutes.

It was no surprise when the visitors took the lead, with the Motormens leading first team scorer Lee Furlong cutting inside from the left and drilling a low shot into the corner of the goal.

This seemed to instill some urgency into Town, with Tyson Eyo equalising six minutes later when he hit an unstoppable shot into the net after Warren Bellew's corner was only half cleared.

Town went ahead from the spot after 39 after Tony Wynne was fouled in the box after a good flowing move, with Bellew despatching the penalty.

Tony Wynne adding a third on 62 minutes with a first time shot past the goalkeeper after good work by Jon McEvoy left him with just the keeper to beat.

Wynne grabbed his second and Town's fourth after 72 minutes when he chased an apparent lost cause back to the keeper with his clearance hitting Wynne, rebounding into the air with Town's leading scorer prodding the ball home.

Wynne completed his hat-trick after 77 minutes when he stole in at the near post to meet Bellew's cross from the right hand side.

Town could have made it six for the second time against Vauxhall's this season after being given a penalty with five minutes remaining, but Jason Carey saw his effort go wide of the post.
