NO SEPERATING TOP TWO
Runcorn Town left it very late to snatch a point in the clash of the top two, with Heswall returning to the Wirral deflated following Jason Carey's 94th minute equaliser.

Despite it being a very close game, Town had chances to win it comfortably, but were guilty of four one on one misses as the clinical finishing of Town's forwards deserted them.

James McShane missed two great chances either side of the break, the first when he had time and space after going clear to pick his spot but shot tamely at the keeper and the second a snap shot that went wide of the post.

Heswall only briefly threatened and did little to trouble debutant keeper Richie Mottram who has signed for the rest of the season from Warrington Town. However they shocked Town by taking a 63rd minute lead when Nathan Mapletoft was given room in the box and saw his fierce shot deflected into the net.

Emini Adegbenro wasted a great chance to equalise when he raced clear of the defence, with the keeper pulling off a good save from his shot, with Ste Latham also pulling a shot wide of the right hand post after bursting onto Tyson Eyo's clever through ball.

Town's equaliser came four minutes into the six that the referee deemed to be added on, with Jason Carey's header from Warren Bellew's free kick finding the net, possibly aided by a deflection in a crowded box.

The West Cheshire League leaders almost threw it away a minute later though with Mottram forced into a save down to his right, but Town held on to stay nine points clear of the chasing pack.
