Runcorn Town's first victory over Castrol Social since 2007 saw the club extend their lead further at the top of the West Cheshire League with the gap over Heswall now nine points.
Jon McEvoy sealed the game in the 66th minute with his eighth goal of the season after Emini Adegbenro had put him clear of the defence. McEvoy took his time before firing into the net from close range to score.

Warren Bellew also scored his tenth of the season to double the lead after 36 minutes when he got on the end of another Adegbenro cross to score.
Town now look forward to one of their biggest games of the season on Saturday when second placed Heswall visit, kick off 3.00pm.
