Runcorn Town were held to a 2-2 draw in today's pre-season game at home to North West Counties Second Division side New Mills.
The visitors fielded a side made up of half first teamers and half reserves and took the lead after just two minutes from the penalty spot through Ajmal Khan.
Mills hit the post soon after as they took control of the game but were unable to add to the score. The closest Town came was a low shot from Ryan Wade that the keeper did well to save.
Half time substitute Connor Taylor levelled the scores after 54 minutes with a close range volley from a free kick on the right. However Mills went 2-1 up eight minutes later when poor defending gave Rhys Nevins a free run at goal and he beat Adam Judge at the near post.
Town's second equaliser came from Wade who broke on the left and advanced into the box before slotting the ball in via the far post.
