
Runcorn Town Reserves lost their first West Cheshire League Shield game since entering Division Three three years ago after Prescot Cables Reserves came from two goals behind to claim a 4-2 win after extra time.
Town's leading scorer Aarron Brown put the home side ahead early on with Dave Jolley doubling the lead midway through the half. Sam Gifford reduced the arrears seconds before half time with Gifford squaring the scores in the second half.
In extra time Gifford secured his hat-trick to put Prescot ahead for the first time, with Gifford scoring his and Prescot's fourth to put them in the Semi Finals for the first time.
