Runcorn Town Reserves will be playing their first league game in three 1/2 weeks next Wednesday evening when they entertain Southport Trinity (Reserves) at Pavilions. The West Cheshire Three League game will kick off at 7.30pm.
For the First Team, the Pyke Cup First Round tie against Halton FC has been pencilled in as the first home game in the new year on Tuesday 5th January 2010. This has yet to be confirmed by the league, with kick off at 7.30pm.
Meanwhile Town's Emini Adegbenro made the most of the postponement yesterday of the Pyke Cup game with a substitute appearance for the West Cheshire League side in their 3-2 National Systems Cup win against the Lancashire League at Padiham FC.
West Cheshire led 1-0 at the break before two quick goals at the start of the second half gave them a 3-0 lead. Lancashire quickly pulled one back with Mini making an appearance with 20 minutes to go as a lone striker up front!
He did have one opportunity with a volley from inside the box, but his shot sailed over the bar.
The Lancashire League pulled a second goal back in stoppage time, but West Cheshire now progress into the Quarter Finals with the draw on Monday.
