GINEVER HELPS TOWN MAKE QUARTER FINALS
A rare goal from centre back Dave Ginever helped Runcorn Town progress through to the Quarter Finals of the Cheshire Amateur Cup with a 4-3 victory at Helsby.

Ginever notched only his second goal in 113 senior appearances for Town after 71 minutes, with the goal pulling Town level after Helsby had led 3-1.

Helsby opened the scoring in the 34th minute through Samir Bailey with Clint Burton equalising two minutes before half time. Helsby then retook the lead seven minutes into injury time through Idrith Kamara and added a third after 64 minutes through Gary Lunt.

Burton pulled one back two minutes later and following Ginever's equaliser, Town pushed forward looking for the winner. It duly came in the 89th minute with Ste Latham's shot deflected into the corner of the net.

Further good news came later on with Cammell Laird Reserves and West Kirby both losing in the league at home against Ellesmere Port and Heswall respectively.
