Runcorn Town Reserves' first away game of the season at St Werburgh's was called off just half an hour before kick off after St Werburgh's discovered that there was no goalposts available on their pitch!
King's College Chester, as landlords of their home pitch, were apparently informed that there was a game but did not leave any goalposts out, leaving the referee with no option but to call the game off.
Town players were fully in attendance and not happy with the decision, particularly given the fact that several of them had taken time off work to attend the game.
We now await a decision from the league as to what will happen with the points from the fixture.
