TOWN PEGGED BACK AT FORD
Runcorn Town ended their pre-season campaign with a 2-2 draw at Ford Motors in Widnes. The game proved to be an ideal final encounter which was constantly end to end with both teams showing plenty of energy, pace and not lacking in football skill.

Town took the lead in the 36th minute when Danny Cummins headed a Marvin Molyneux corner into the top corner. Six minutes later Tony Wynne put the visitors 2-0 up in the as he despatched Mavin Molyneux's free kick into the far corner of the goal.

Ford pulled one back in the 56th min when Ally McRacken cut inside from the right to fire past Carl Williams, despite Town protesting for offside. The home team grabbed an equaliser in the 90th minute when a cross from the left deceived Williams and Chris Lester headed the ball over the stranded keeper into the empty net.
