TOWN EDGE OUT VODKAT LEADERS

Runcorn Town warmed up for Wednesday's Runcorn Cup Semi Final against Helsby in perfect fashion by coming from behind to win 2-1 against Vodkat League One leaders AFC Liverpool.

Dave Eaton put Liverpool ahead after 15 minutes when he got behind Danny Dalton and calmly slotted the ball past Karl Wills.

Town had to wait until the 71st minute for the equaliser, with two substitutes combining well to make it. Kyle Hamid played a quick corner on the left to Mike Boyle who returned it to Hamid. He swung in a ball which Aarron Brown flicked on with Simon Burton firing home.

The winner came four minutes from time through Mike Boyle and was another set piece goal. Hamid's free kick on the right was crossed deep to the back post with Dalton heading across goal and Boyle slotting the ball in from three yards.
