Runcorn Town Reserves' chances of promotion from Division Three suffered a major setback with a 3-1 home defeat to Capenhurst Villa Reserves.
Rob Hickson put Villa ahead early on with Connor Anderson equalising after 18 minutes. Town controlled large portions of the game but could not find a second goal and were made to pay a minute into the second half when Rob Manning scored.
Capenhurst secured all three points when they were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute with Andrew Barlow beating Carl Williams from the spot.
